Fun Fact: She bought her house and 5 acre property for her animals! She had a fun time explaining why houses wouldn't work because the view wasn't good for the cats or the house set up wasn't good for her dogs!! She definitely loves her animals.
Licensed Veterinary Technician/Trainer
I became part of the Agape team in 2016 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, all the way from Canada! I graduated with a BSc from Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, but discovered I had a passion for the veterinary field and loved the diverse hands on skills required to be a Vet Tech. I completed my Associates Degree in Applied Animal Sciences at Cedar Valley College in 2016 while learning in a clinic setting. I have two cats and two border collie mixes, one of which inspired my passion for animal behavior. I expanded on this passion by offering training at the Halifax SPCA for adoptable dogs, and offered both group and private training classes in Halifax. I regularly attend
seminars and CE to continue expanding my knowledge in the
field and have recently been Sophia Yin Low Stress Handling
Certified-Silver. I aspire to specialize as a Veterinary Technician
Specialist in Behavior and now bring this knowledge to Agape by
offering behavioral consultations and packages (coming soon!).
Interesting Fact: I compete in competitive canine agility with my dog Rynslo and qualified for the Canadian Nationals in 2016.
Dr. Blaha is originally from Odessa, NY. Her connection with animals started early on, as her parents owned and operated a successful Dairy Farm for over 30 years. Dr. Blaha graduated from Cornell University in 2009. She worked at a general practice in Syracuse NY for a year prior to moving to Seattle, WA where she worked at a 24 hour emergency practice. In 2012 she moved home and shortly thereafter purchased Agape Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Blaha enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has special interests in preventative health care, nutrition, alternative medicine and surgery. When she's not working, Dr. Blaha enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with her silly dogs, Uno and Sophia.
Interesting Factoid: Dr. Blaha spent 4 months in Vanuatu in 2004 doing research on lizards! She also ran a marathon in 2010!
I have worked at Agape since 2003. I worked as a vet assistant for 10 years and now I focus on all of the ordering and inventory throughout the clinic. I have two very spoiled rotten dogs Lola and Luci. My spare time is spent with my husband and children, usually traveling for softball.
I have had the pleasure of working at Agape since 2003. While most of my time is spent doing the bookkeeping, I occasionally help out front, which is the most enjoyable part of my job because I get to meet the clients and their pets. When I'm not at work I spend my time with my son Ryan. I also have a cat and a dog, Ruby and Annie.
Interesting Fact: I lived in France for 2 months and don't speak any French, it was quite an experience!
